CALLS FOR BOYCOTT OF
ISRAELI YOUTH EVENTS,

ANNOUNCES FREE GAZA
HUMANITARIAN CAMPAIGN

 

ISTANBUL. 26 APRIL,
2010. The Board of the Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue and
Cooperation, an affiliated institution to the Organization of the Islamic
Conference (OIC) strongly condemns the pirate action by Israeli Army attacking
humanitarian ships convoy in international waters which took toll of at least
10 people dead and about 50 others wounded. This barbaric action is not only
violation of all the principles of international and humanitarian law but also
constitutes act of state terrorism. It once again revealed the inhumane nature
of Israeli Government’s apartheid policy toward sealed Gaza which is turned in
contemporary form of prolonged Auschwitz. On this tragic occasion we first of
all express our deep condolences to the families of the martyrs of humanity. We
also applaud the courageous people of 32 nationalities and different religious
background united in the quest of human compassion and who put their lives
under risk in following call of consciousness in extending hand of support to
fellow human beings.

 

We support those
governments and international organizations which condemned the recent barbaric
attack by Israeli government. We call on other important international actors
to free themselves from hostage of pro-Israeli lobbies and express the same
level of condemnation which is used in cases of other terrorist actions.

 

We support strong UN
Security Council action in launching a thorough international investigation of
the massacre and bringing those responsible for the attack to justice; We call
upon the states –members of the UN SC to act in accord to make Tel-Aviv
apologize at once for its behavior, cooperate with the UN on investigating the
attack on humanitarian convoy and to immediately return bodies of fallen and
release all those taken into custody.

 

We call upon major
regional youth organizations-partners in the Alliance of Civilizations process
and beyond to join their voice in condemning the current action of Israeli
state sponsored terrorism which went beyond collective punishment imposed on
Palestinian civilians. We invite youth leaders of the world to act in
solidarity with their same-ages in Palestine and particularly in Gaza who are
first and immediate victims of Israeli blockade of which the current attack is
a part and parcel. As an act of opposing such policies and such barbarism from
taking ground in international relations we invite youth organizations globally
to boycott any events being under sponsorship or to be sponsored by the
Government of Israel until and when this Government meets the demand of
international community to punish those responsible for the recent attack and
to lift the aid blockade of Gaza. We also invite young people in Israel to
raise their voice against the current policy of collective punishment of
Palestinians, join the growing international campaign for justice and peace in
the region.

 

In an act of solidarity
with the courageous ambassadors of humanity in the relief convoy and
Palestinians under suffering ICYF-DC announces a launch of “Free Gaza”
humanitarian campaign to assist youth of Gaza sector. ICYF-DC will continue to
work with all partners from distinct geographies and cultural backgrounds to
raise awareness on defending human rights, prevent racism and discrimination
whenever and whomever against they appear.
